A few days ago, deep down on my routinely Tumblr scroll, I found something really interesting which I was not aware of.

Well it's Tumblr anything you find there is interesting and unheard of.

Back to topic.

Firefighter Race! well Firefighter's combat challenge to be precise.

After looking into Firefighter race, I found out it's not just a racing event but like a whole sports day for firefighters.

The Firefighter Combat Challenge is the only federally funded, university-based occupational health physiological research study that has become an internationally touring and televised sports event. It’s a demanding 5-event physical challenge that firefighters throughout the world participate in and try to complete with the fastest time.

Competition events include:

  1. A stair climb with a high-rise pack

  2. Hose Hoist

Hose Hoist-Competitor raising a 42 lb. donut roll up the 5 story FCC Tower

3. Forcible Entry

Forcible Entry-Competitor hitting 160 lb. beam with 9 lb. sledgehammer

4. Hose Advance

5. Victim Rescue

The primary purpose for the Firefighter Combat Challenge is to promote physical fitness, an essential part of structural firefighting.
